Celebrate the start of fall and Oktoberfest with APT DC! Join us as local historian and author, Garrett Peck, leads a walking tour of Old Town Alexandria: site of the first brewery in the DC area, the Andrew Wales Brewery (1770), and home of the Robert Portner Brewing Company's massive Tivoli Brewery. The tour will explore alleys, repurposed buildings, historic taverns, a preserved ice well - and of course Alexandria's magnificent colonial-era architecture. The tour is about a 2.5 mile walk so wear comfortable shoes!

The tour will begin at the Old Presbyterian Meeting House at 323 S. Fairfax Street. Street parking is available but there is typically a 2-3 hour time limit. We therefore suggest parking for $5 in the garage below City Hall (Cameron St. and Fairfax St.). Old town is also accessible by Metro and a free trolley provides transport from the King Street station along King St down to the waterfront.
