Join APT DC and the National Park Service for our rescheduled volunteer cleaning event at the Buchanan Memorial at Meridian Hill Park!

This is a similar event to our volunteer cleaning effort in September 2016, so if you weren't able to participate then, now's your chance! If you previously signed up for the May 2018 event that was rained out, please re-register using the link below.

We'll be working from 8AM-noon to clean the Memorial using non-toxic detergents and biological cleaners. In addition, we're hoping to provide a demonstration of a hot wax treatment on the bronze statue.

Even though we will be providing basic training and consider all materials to be used safe to handle, we recommend you come prepared with the following:

  • Clothes you can get dirty in!
  • Long, light pants (recommended because we will be climbing ladders, walking among plants, etc.)
  • Sturdy, waterproof boots, preferably tall enough to protect your ankles.
  • Safety glasses and gloves (APT DC will have some on hand if you do not have your own.)
  • Water! We'll provide some water and snacks, but it's always a good idea to bring extra.
We hope you'll join us!

Note: We will not be providing AIA credits for this event.
