It's finally here! Join in on the fun and volunteer with APT DC to clean the Buchanan Memorial at Meridian Hill Park this Saturday, September 17th from 8 am to noon. The annual picnic will follow, giving all a chance to admire our handiwork! (Please note if you wish to attend the picnic afterward, you must register for that event separately.)

We will be working from about 8AM - 12 PM.  The materials we will be using are non-toxic detergents and biological cleaners, in addition to simple hand tools.  Even though we will be providing basic training and consider these materials safe to handle, we recommend you come prepared with the following:

  • Clothes you can get dirty in!
  • Long, light pants (recommended because we will be climbing ladders, walking among plants, etc.)
  • Sturdy boots, preferably tall enough to protect your ankles.
  • Safety glasses and gloves (APT DC will also be providing glasses, nitrile gloves and work gloves in case you don't have your own).
  • Water and water bottle!!!

We will be acting as representatives of APT DC and as volunteers for the National Park Service, so let's do them proud!
